PEGASUS
A short-lived Progressive / Folk subsidiary
of B&C Records. Pegasus issued approximately ten albums and two singles
before
mutating into Peg (qv); Peg numbering started where Pegasus left off. The break
wasn't a clean one: some
albums were issued on Pegasus and re-pressed on Peg,
keeping the same catalogue number. In 1973 both
labels, and the B&C label
itself, were superseded by Mooncrest. Pressing was by EMI.
PEG
A short-lived successor to B&C's 'Pegasus'
label, Peg took over Pegasus's numbering (PGS- for singles,
PEG- for albums)
in 1972, at PEG-3. In 1973, however, B&C dropped both Peg and its main label
and
replaced them with the Mooncrest label. As as result of these changes
it is possible to find some
records - Nazareth's 'Exercises' LP, for example -
on Pegasus, Peg and Mooncrest; which is
slightly odd. Be that as it may, there
are not many Peg singles around, nowadays. Pressing was by EMI.
